Product Description

Carlson High Flow Filter Pads

The company brings forth a Carlson XE range of products. These are high performance filter sheets that are designed to meet most demanding filtration applications. These XE filtration sheets are designed and used to achieve clarity and stability in products being filtered along with integrity and longer sheet life.

XE filtration sheets are developed to be compatible with food, beverage and pharmaceutical products; using carefully selected and quality assured material. The below given graph mentions the particle retention values of the XE product range. XE 90 sheet is recommended for filtration of wine at stage 1 to filter coarse, that gives particle retention between 4 to 8 microns.

Features & Benefits:

Carefully selected, processed and bleached cellulose fibers along with non hazardous filter aids and approved resins are used in the production of XE filter sheets. The combination of these material gives the filter media superior filtration capabilities as well as wet & dry handling characteristics. At the time of making of sheet, the pore size distribution is carefully controlled in order to evenly build filter cake. This even distribution maximizes the filter capacity and minimize the risk of leakage. All XE grades are made in similar thickness, so as to use different grade sheets in same filter press configuration & seal thickness. This special sheet formulation & processing method, allows the reduction in edge leakage.

The XE range efficiently meet the essentials, like clarity, stability and sterility during filtering spirits, beers, wines & lagers. This is also used for filtration of syrups for soft drinks, cosmetics, gelatins, chemical & pharmaceutical industries.

Instructions for correct use:

It is recommended to handle the filter sheets carefully at the time of inserting it into filter press, to eliminate the chances of distortion or abrasion. Do not make use of damaged filter sheet. The smooth side of the filter sheet is to be placed against the filtration plate (i.e. downstream), while the rough side of the sheet has to face the liquid to be filtered (i.e. upstream).

Filter Preparation:

Before filtration, it is recommended to pre-rinse the closed filters with approx 50 liters of water per sq. meter and side by side check for leakage.

These sheets can be sterilized with saturated steam or hot water for 20 minutes. It is recommended to slightly loosen the pressed filter to let the steam entirely sterilizes the system. Once the filter has cooled down, a final pressure should be applied to the filter package.
